Out of curiosity, did anybody do anything with their original characters in beta? I'm too chickensh*t to do anything with them.
Garalonde I did. And I kept the one I created recently (Chelsey Gambgee). Chelsey and I explored Gridania and Thanalan. Since the ferry was out, and I did not feel like leveling up to ride the airship, I started Garalonde in Limsa Lominsa. We did not get outside of the city before I had to head home from school.

Mars Tonia Were you level 50 in all your old jobs? did you have the opportunity to change your appearance?

Garalonde Change the appearance, yes. All I did was add a little extra definition to his physique. My levels were reset to 0.

Mars Tonia I wonder if you get the opportunity to change his look again after launch. I'm assuming any progress you make in the game starting now will be there at launch. What about re-choosing a server?

Garalonde I started Garalonde on Marlboro with Chelsey. Balmung is still not available.

Wolfie i loaded up my actual char on balmung for this last weekend. didnt have the chance to rename or remake but it started me out like a new char would

Wolfie apparently nothing in phase 3 is saving though so i would look for phase 4 - release for the remake. a lot of stuff was missing too

Wolfie on the….login screen where you type in pass and id there is a thing that says WORLD at the bottom, can access it from there

Luderic I logged in with my old char too, all the levels/gils/equipment were there. Balmung was there too for me. The remake/rename of the character will be only at release

Luderic Gara, I think you didn't play last weekend, right? This is when they added the old servers. Two weeks ago they were not up

Luderic And yes, the progress is not saved in phase 3. So if you feel like buying all dyes or pay 55,513 gils to take the ferry from Ul'dah to LL, you can do it

Garalonde I logged in the last two weekends. When I created Chelsey, Balmung was not an option and the screen would not scroll down. This past weekend, I found access to Garalonde.

Mars Tonia Last weekend I didn't have access to my old char either, but this past weekend I did and Balmung showed up on the server list. I was just didn't want to log in with him cuz I didn't want to f*ck anything up.

Raiden a lot of us logged into balamung this past weekend and everything was there too many quest though.

Garalonde I will have to pay better attention next time. Or do they automatically move us to Balmung when everything goes live and permanent?

Luderic When everything goes live we'll stay on the same server unless you request to be moved to another legacy server

Mars Tonia Wow, I don't know how I feel about starting the game at lvl 50. Wouldn't there be a lot of content that we would miss out on? Or would we just be doing quests way above their intended level? Either way it sounds like it could be boring.

Lumia Goldenheart I ran around and did all the lowbie quests, and started the story line in Gridania. I also threw away all of my cracked materia thinking they were worthless…. (see above)... And I complained a lot about not being able to use my grand company gear because I didn't get a chance to rejoin the Twin Adders. I also messed around with dying clothes since I had a bunch of that sitting on a retainer.
