sigh~ almost a full month later and my laptop is still busted :/ this shit sucks!
Luderic Did you try getting the video card driver directly from Dell? I know this may sound stupid but I've seen quite a few weird things with Dell laptops at work

Wolfie i did try that actually, uninstalled the onboard graphics and the GPU drivers entirely. got the latest directly from dell. both installed np….when i went to restart the PC tho same thing where it wont boot up :/ gets stuck in starting windows forever

computer broke without warning last night v.v think hard drive had critical failure. never bothered to make any back ups so am having to salvage what i can in safe mode and do a full reinstall ; ; blah
