Wolfie i bought a new 1tb hdd, installed….now whenever i update/install drivers for my graphics card or onboard graphics it crashes on start up.....start up repair/last known good config wont fix it so i end up having to system restore to before the updates. :/ so atm i have no idea wtf to do and am prolly going to have to buy a new PC since my laptop is an alienware M17X R4 :/

Luderic Did you try getting the video card driver directly from Dell? I know this may sound stupid but I've seen quite a few weird things with Dell laptops at work

Wolfie i did try that actually, uninstalled the onboard graphics and the GPU drivers entirely. got the latest directly from dell. both installed np….when i went to restart the PC tho same thing where it wont boot up :/ gets stuck in starting windows forever
