I have been working on a replacement for Guildwork's DKP since I feel at this point it is very dated. The original vision for the DKP feature was to built it in a way that any type of raid tracking system could be built on top of it by any user of the site with custom DKP. Custom DKP was never really used by anyone and it made it hard for me to modify the architecture of the DKP after it's release. The term "DKP" also put a lot of people off even though the system didn't actually require you to use points.

I am fixing on this in the following with the replacement.

  • The name is being changed to "Raid Tracker".
  • Custom DKP is being removed and any sites that are actually using it will be given the option to export their data.
  • All the other systems are being rebuild from scratch and data will be imported into them from DKP on release.
  • Members will no longer have Alias and User. Only a name will have to be provided and if it matches the name of a character in the guild it will automatically link.
  • Events can now have encounters so leaders can define a whole WoW raid and all the encounters as event. Another example is for FFXI, have a Sea event with all the pops as encounters.
  • Default events and items will be importable so leaders don't have to manually add 1000 items.
  • Adding loot to a raid will now allow setting a quantity so leaders do not have to do repetitive tasks.
  • The Raid Tracker will have a REST API which means Guildwork plugin and WoW addons will be able to automatically update it.
  • A global wish list view will be added to easily see what every member wants.
  • The whole thing is collaborative and real-time so any changes that are being made will be visible in real-time to any other users viewing the pages.
  • Attendance will be computed in real-time when raids are updated in addition to daily at 12am.
  • A much faster new UI.
  • Bank feature will probably be extracted into a standalone feature. (this is not confirmed yet)

If you have any ideas or concerns for the Raid Tracker feel free to reply.

I know my shell does volunteer farming runs for dyna arch nms. The runs are extra points, but if you don't go the attendance counts against you and there is a rule about attendance that we have.

I don't know if there is a way to do it but it would be nice for maybe a selection button that does not count attendance on specified events.

Even the current DKP supports this just in reverse. You can add people as exemptions so it does not hurt attendance. I like the idea of just making the whole raid exempt.

Good to know, will tell my shell leaders because this is hurting me and other people. Probably takes time to add a lot of exemptions though so the whole raid exemption would probably be nice.

Oh please don't do that :( We use Attendance percentage as a deciding factor for things. That exception idea has thrown off percentages in the past. If someone is marked as "exempt" it doesn't lower their percentage.
That would cause a massive clusterfucker when you have your DKP set to "drop" people who haven't shown up in "X" amount of days.
(I believe you and I talked about that problem in IMs one day)

EDIT: My dumbass didn't missed the part about Wishlists. My suggestion is already in there :D

P.S. This… is a much welcomed addition :D

Can it properly track attendance if a guild has two separate 10 mans?

Would we be able to exclude certain characters from events, or class a character under another character.

Example being we have people who dual box. Our shell classes that as one person's DKP and he uses his points across both characters.
    Nirvana (99): 1977/30000 Alexandrite Masamune (90): 28/75 Hearts

    Marduk's Tiara +1: Obtained Marduk's Jubbah +1: 23/50 Plans
Mdk. Dastanas +1: 0/45 Plans Mdk. Shalwar +1: 0/45 Plans
Mdk. Crackows +1: 0/40 Plans Nabu's Tiara: Obtained

Works just the same as now. You can use 1 member to track multiple characters.

I am thinking of adding 'tags' to raids. So you can tag a raid as "group1" and then go find the attendance percentages to all raids tagged group1. I don't see any other solution that is clean for a global attendance for 2 groups.

I know the Raid System is largely based on WoW content, but will you guys be trying to implement some of these same features for FFXIV users after the 2.0 release comes out?
